It appears a group against airport expansion has decided to pursue the "humour" angle.

Apart from the fact that I disagree with most (not all) of their aims, it's quite a funny ad :-)

Do you think taxing aircraft fuel is a bad idea - and if so why?
Anyway, I'm looking forward to travelling in more style and comfort, albeit at a third of the speed, on an airship.
Here's another amusing advertisement (with a less dodgy-looking domain name) explaining how they can store more on your hard disk.
If it is thought that emissions from aircraft impose an externality on people other than the passengers and the airline then there is, of course, a good case for applying a tax: to "internalise" the externality.
That is different to a headline-catching "tax on aircraft fuel" or whatever, however.
Hmm. Have you considered becoming a politican?
Many times..... I'm not sure it would be the best path to take. I suspect going into lobbying or working for a think tank would be the way to go.
I'm not sure how well they pay though....
I'd love to spend all day writing persuasive articles on why everybody else is wrong and I am right :-)
